About Us
NHS Innovations London (Ltd) aims to aid the financial health of London NHS Trusts, the physical and emotional health of patients and the economic development of London and the UK. We work with London NHS Trusts to identify promising innovations, provide a swift, objective analysis of their commercial potential, secure appropriate intellectual property protection and support inventors and their teams to fast track ideas to market.
Through the endeavours of NHSIL, patients and NHS Trusts benefit from new and enhanced therapies, diagnostics, medical devices, equipment, software and health education products. Inventors gain appropriate recognition and reward for their ideas and revenue derived from their inventions can be reinvested into the NHS to promote better healthcare for the future.

NHSIL operates on a membership basis and has a wide range of Member Trusts throughout the London region, including NHS Trusts, Foundation Trusts, Mental Health Trusts, Primary Care Trusts including Teaching PCT’s and Research Consortiums in the region. Investors and Industry
If you are a medical or healthcare company, NHSIL can give you exclusive access to healthcare technologies and devices, developed as a result of specific needs identified in the delivery of frontline healthcare. We are looking to work with companies who are interested in licensing, forming spin-out companies or partnering in product design, product development, prototype manufacturing, regulatory affairs and distribution. We can also work with you to set up clinical trials and gain ethical and regulatory approval.
NHSIL aim to provide you with opportunities that are low risk, high value and fulfil a real market need. NHSIL achieve this by putting projects through our rigorous evaluation process (Xpedite™), ensuring that all innovations receive a detailed market assessment, a technical validation and are properly protected.
We also assess the need for a product by identifying “champions” within the field and asking them to confirm the usefulness and uniqueness of the product - and in some cases perform limited trials. The benefits of this process is twofold: confirmation that the product is of real value and an endorsement from leading clinicians in the field.
NHSIL is constantly seeking to expand our industry network, partnering with both SMEs and large commercial organizations to enable the transfer of new innovations from the NHS into healthcare markets on the most favourable terms. We also seek to build long term partnerships with key players in specific markets to increase the efficiency of the commercialization process and facilitate the development of interactive relationships between clinicians and technology experts.
