John Goulston joined Barts and The London as Finance Director in September 2002. After graduating in economics at Hull University, John joined the NHS Southeast Thames Regional Health Authority's finance training scheme. Once qualified as an accountant, he joined accountancy firm Coopers and Lybrand, where he spent three years in public sector audit and another three in health consultancy. He returned to the NHS in 1992 - working first as Finance Director of the former Crawley and Horsham Trust for three years, and then as Finance Director of Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust for seven years.
