Dr. Torsten Strunz-McKendry joined NHS Innovations London in February 2006 after working for Endress+Hauser in Switzerland where he managed projects from proof of concept to product development and manufacture in the field of ultrasonic sensors and instrumentation.

After his PhD in Physics he set up a research group on single molecule DNA and protein interaction at the University of Basel, Switzerland. Multidisciplinary research projects on novel bio-assays collaborations included Roche and IBM. Before taking the position at Endress+Hauser he joined IBM Zurich Research Laboratory to develope a microarray based DNA detection technique.
