Mr Alan Driver
Director of Intellectual Property Management

Alan joined NHSIL in May 2005 and moves from Project Director of the commercialisation team of Partnerships UK Ltd, a joint venture with HM Treasury which helps public bodies commercialise their assets. A key influencer of government strategy regarding the implementation of commercial exploitation, Alan was responsible for a number of important initiatives to help bridge the gap between private and public sectors. Prior to this time, Alan was a founder of the drug discovery company, RiboTargets, and spent four years building operations, winning several major funding grants on the way. From 1989 to 1997, Alan worked for the Medical Research Council as a Technology Transfer Manager, marketing and licensing new technologies and raising funds for several different long-term scientific collaborations.

Alan’s broad range of experience in technology management in both the public and private sectors will play a pivotal role in accelerating NHSIL’s rapidly growing product development pipeline and strengthening relationships with the NHS Trusts in London.
