PUMA - Procurement Management Analysis

Background

The introduction of Practice Based Commissioning was the driver for the PUMA development as a vehicle for turning separate pockets of data into seamless reporting.

Problem

No alternative product available off the shelf which completely supports Practice Based Commissioning.  Although Dr Foster exists this does not completely support Practice Based Commissioning as it only provides support to information that is mandated to flow through NWCS. 

Solution

PUMA provides a total solution to information reporting that provides patient centric data, benchmarking and monitoring information all in one place. The functionality can be extended to view data not just from a tabular perspective but geographically by using a mapping package. Whilst PUMA provides excellent monitoring information against a baseline target it also provides a care pathway for each patient so commissioners are able to make a judgment for the first time about appropriateness of treatment. What makes PUMA unique is its ability to take feeds from disparate sources and turn this data into information.
