Scope
Our advice focused on practical ways in which both research organisations and commercially focused innovation units linked to industry could leverage proven Xpedite^® process and principles to:

• Identify and secure sources of new ideas; encourage the disclosure of new ideas; establish an innovation pipeline and manage this pipeline efficiently
• Evaluate commercial potential more effectively
• Increase the suc cess rates ofdevelopment projects - costs, timescales and outcome quality
• Establish appropriate funding regimes with tighter investment targeting and lean governance
• Optimise the return on innovation investment portfolio

The project scope involved business infrastructure and operation design of 2 pilot Enterprise Centres for Medical Products and Biotech, including options for technology set-up.

Provide intensive Xpedite^® training to senior memebers of the R&D Outcomes and Technology Transfer unit as the first step in the introduction of strengthening evaluation practices.
